SaaS and enterprise software veteran Jimmy Duan has joined digital finance transformation leader BlackLine as chief customer officer.

BlackLine, Inc. (Nasdaq: BL) has announced a significant addition to its leadership team with the appointment of Jimmy Duan as Chief Customer Officer, effective May 6th. Bringing over 25 years of experience in the SaaS and enterprise software industry, Mr. Duan will oversee several critical departments, including Implementation, Customer Success, Support, Training, as well as Strategic Alliances & Channels teams. His appointment underscores BlackLine’s commitment to enhancing customer experience and driving continued growth and success in the digital finance transformation space.

In his new role, Mr. Duan will report directly to Co-CEO Owen Ryan, where he will leverage his extensive expertise to elevate BlackLine’s customer experience to new heights. With a track record of leading high-performing customer support, technology, services, and sales teams, Mr. Duan’s customer-first philosophy aligns seamlessly with BlackLine’s mission of delivering cutting-edge solutions tailored to meet the evolving needs of the CFO’s team.

Mr. Duan joins BlackLine from Medallia, a cloud experience management pioneer, where he served as EVP and Chief Customer Officer. During his tenure, he played a key role in guiding the company through its successful IPO. Prior to Medallia, Mr. Duan held the position of EVP and Chief Technology Officer at CallidusCloud, a global leader in sales performance management, where he oversaw R&D, services, cloud operations, and international market expansion.
